Short Layered Haircuts

The new season is the perfect time to try out a new look and a new short haircut. A short hairstyles can be a great low-maintenance option and it's so cool for the upcoming summer months.
The new short haircuts are a lot more choppier and textured than in the previous seasons. From short pixie cuts to the popular bob hairstyles, there's a style hair type, texture or face shape. Adding layers to short hair is a great way to add texture and shape to a cut and will give a lot more styling options.

Asymmetric layers add a kick of edge to any short haircut – style them to play up the drama by parting hair high on the crown, then brushing forward.

An ultra-short pixie haircut plays up layers for a young, playful feel. Razored layers are cut throughout the crown while bangs with uneven edges. For added emphasis, hair is styled forward into spiked up pieces and jagged layers in the bangs.

A short shag is complete when paired with choppy bangs and mussed up texture.
To enhance its shape, work through with texturizer then blow-dry using only your hands to style. Rake through layers with fingers and guide random ends to flip out for even more volume.

Styling products such as texturizers and waxes allow you to play up your short haircut and enhance layers – don't be afraid to experiment with new looks!
Thicker hair types are best suited to more gutsier products (clays, putties, pastes) while spray waxes and powders are best for finer hair as the product adds extra bulk without weighing hair down.
