How to Cut or Trim Your Own Bangs

How to Cut or Trim Your Own Bangs
Every now and then, you need a bang trim and can't make it to the salon. Here are some great tips to avoid homemade bang disasters.

Always work with your hair dry. Cutting bangs while wet will result in extra-short fringe. Make sure your hair dry the way you usually wear it, whether that means blow-drying or air-drying.

Only use sharp, high quality scissors designed to cut hair. Your everyday craft scissors are simply too dull for the task.

Select what you want to cut and clip the rest of your hair out of the way.

Use the outer edge of the eyebrows as a guide for where to stop snipping.
How to Cut Your Own Bangs

Take a small section of hair and twist it around a couple of times. Move your fingers up or down the twist, depending on how long you want the bangs to be. If you want longer bangs, hold the twist toward the bridge of your nose. For shorter bangs, hold it above your eyebrows. Twisting allows for extra length and will give bangs whispy, trendy look.

Cut vertically along the bottom of the twist, then comb your bangs down to see how they look. Any stray hairs that are sticking out can be snipped horizontally at this point.

Continue cutting small sections until you've completed the job.
