If your curling and flat iron are coated with a sticky layer of hair product and build-up, than it's definitely time to clean those babies!
The debris from the plates can cause serious damage to your hair, hair pulling and breakage and cleaning them regularly can also make them last longer!
Learn how to clean your curling and flat irons with the following hot tool cleansing routine! |
Prepare a smal dish of warm, soapy water with a drop of two of dish soap.
Unplug tools! Never immerse any electric tool in water, plugged or unplugged!
Clean tools while they're still a bit warm – it will be easier to remove excess product.
|
Dip the edge of a cotton ball in the soapy water and rub the plates and surfaces in circular motion to distribute the solution.
Wait a few minutes to dislodge the buil-up.
While you wait, gently remove particles from the grooves and crevices with the help of a wooden cuticle stick. But don't force or jam the stick into any opening, as this may cause damage to the tool.
If you find that there's a soapy film left on the tool after cleaning, take a cotton ball dip it in rubbing alcohol and wipe the soapy film off the tool.
Finish cleaning with one more swipe of a soft cotton cloth. |
